This site is dedicated to facilitating the support of Personal Digital Assistants used by the Duke University Hospital House Staff.

PDA Support Being Provided by DHTS Customer Support
DHTS Customer Support Services will provide support for PDA's and laptops to residents.

Customers can request help by creating a task from this page. Support Analysts will receive notification of the support request via the paging system and will contact the Resident or Medical Student to arrange service. DHTS Help Desk and DHTS Customer Support Services will also be available at our satellite location outside the Duke Hospital North Cafeteria or Duke Hospital South Cafeteria.

Satellite Help Desk - the satellite help desk will be staffed at various times throughout the day and will work with Residents and Medical students during their shifts. Residents may bring their PDA and/or laptops for service or schedule an appointment.

Satellite Desk Hours of Operation

Duke Hospital South - Mondays and Wednesdays - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Duke Hospital North - Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Minimum Hardware Requirement


Listed below are the minimum requirements for hardware support by DHTS.

USB ports (depending on version of PDA)

Each laptop entering the Duke network will be treated as a Duke device, therefore required to have security updates, patches, and anti-virus software.

The following software will be installed on each supported laptop:

McAfee Anti Virus

Tivoli Remote Control - Software pushes and updates

Microsoft SUS - Microsoft operation system updates and service packs

Duke Supported Applications

Virtual PIN

Lotus Notes Client

eBrowser

iAnywhere (Pylon Anywhere)

Native PDA software

Patient Keeper

Hardware Support

Duke Computer Repair is certified to work on both IBM and Dell hardware. They provide support for hardware failures. Non-warranty maintenance support and charges will be billed to the customer.
